RRS Atlanta
Join Us for the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation 2014 Feather 5K Fun Run/Walk! Saturday, November 1st at Your Road Runner Sports Store in Buckhead Powers Ferry Square - 3756 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA. 30342 Check In Begins at 8:00am, Run/Walk Begins at 9:00am One of the primary missions of the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) is to lighten the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients in Metro Atlanta. Each year, thousands of people in our region are diagnosed with cancer; for many of them, the diagnosis results in a devastating financial impact. The costs of tests, surgeries, treatments and medications add up quickly. For some, these costs are compounded by lost wages during treatment. Meanwhile, the stress of dealing with finances can make it difficult for patients and their families to focus on recovery. ACCF's emergency financial assistance grants have helped many hundreds of cancer patients in Metro Atlanta who were experiencing financial hardship. These grants have enabled patients to stay in their homes; keep their lights and heat on; purchase necessary medications; and have reliable transportation to treatments. ACCF also provides funding for professional and public education regarding cancer related issues, and for cancer research. Let's flock together and help make the financial burden of cancer as light as a feather! *This is a Family Fun Run & Walk with no chip timing or street closures. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome! REGISTER TODAY!

The anchor of a child's life is his or her family. In all of creation there exists no other place where a child can experience the a deep bond with his or her parents. This understanding binds Childkind to its mission ? to empower families caring for children with special healthcare and developmental needs, promoting safe, stable, and nurturing homes. Breathing through every service we provide is a passionate belief that the love between a parent and a child and the love within their family is fundamental to well-being. Our vision is not to create the perfect organization or to advance a trademark program model. Our vision reaches beyond bricks and policies. We dream of a world filled with endless possibilities, unconditional love, and acceptance for children and youth with special healthcare and developmental needs. For this to happen, these children must have a healthy family. As every child has a unique diagnosis and every family within which they live have unique circumstances, we are prepared to engage every household in a unique way. While we use evidence-based programming, provide fully accredited services, and carefully evaluate the quality of our operations, we never lose sight of the fact that each household has its own universe, secrets, and treasures. That is where we deliver our services ? in the home of each family. Childkind offers a continuum of services. Through its Placement Services program, Childkind offers foster care, permanency planning, and host home placement. With its Home Based Services program, Childkind provides Supportive Care Coordination, Family Support Services, and Advocacy & Training. During 2014, Childkind will be introducing in-home nursing services for children. REGISTER TODAY!
